Suggest Medication For Small Deep Reddish/purple Patches Below Eyebrows
Hi Dr. my 4 yr old son has had two small deep reddish/purple patches right beneath his eyebrow for 4 months now. I just noticed it one day when he came home from school. He has tried prednisone, griseofulvin and nystatin and nothing seems to be working. The area now seems to by hyperpigmenting somewhat it does not itch, appear dry or swollen any longer. Please advise.
I can understand your concern for the small deep reddish/purple patches below eyebrows in your son.
I can make out that you have used all anti-fungal and steroid based ointments which have not worked well in your son's case.
In my view it appears to be related to pediculosis infection of the eyebrows which is quite common.
I in general go for dermascopy examination in such cases and then see the area in high resolution to see any nits or mites at the eyebrows area.
I suggest you to meet a dermatologist to get the area examined and get a proper treatment for the same.
I also suggest you to not to do any self treatment as can harm rather than giving any benefit.
All the best.
