Suggest Medication For Sore Throat During Pregnancy

Hi there.. I m 40 weeks pregnant and woke up with a sore throat this morning. When I had a look in the mirror there appears to be some white blob on one of my tonsils. Two of my family members are just getting over Strep Throat and I was just wondering what can be done about this when so close to having baby. Also... will be the baby be ok?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

You are having a cute sore throat and you are almost delivering the baby. So start with warm saline gargle alternate with Betadine gargle. No need to take any medication. Take warm water and plenty of juice and fluids. It will heal with gargle.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Rajat Basak, ENT Specialist
