Suggest Medication For Warts On Tonsils And Genital Thrush

Hi, I am type 1 diabetic and have a really sore mouth and tongue, my tongue has a white/yellowish coating for which my doctor gave me thrush solution but the problem persists. I also have what looks like a wart on my tonsil and my doc has referred me to the hospital but I m worrying that it might be cancer. I m 37, never smoked, drink a couple of times a month, but I do suffer with genital warts. I m just kinda going a little crazy with worry. Also I ve had genital thrush for about a week now which has nearly cleared but the last little bit seems to be staying. Can you help?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

In adults, oral thrush is more common if the immune system is impaired in some way, for example diabetes.

It would be important to make sure that your blood sugar levels are controlled, this would affect your response to treatment.

If the medication used for the thrush was not effective, you may need to try another option.

In terms of the lesion on your tonsil, the fact that there is no history of smoking and limited alcohol use, reduces the risk that it is cancerous. When you are seen at the hospital and the area is further examined and biopsied, the doctors would be able to make a definite diagnosis.

It is understandable to be concerned but your risk is low. If, despite this, it is confirmed as a dangerous lesion, then early treatment would be helpful.

I hope this helps
