General & Family Physician 's  Response
hi
thank you for asking your concern and welcome to HCM. during the initial 3 years of starting menses irregularity is common because of hormonal imbalance itself. after that if it is irregular then a proper evaluation has to undertake consulting any gyenecologist. hormonal pills may not be the solution everytime. it should be given cautiously if person is unmarried. in your case i suggest you to take tablet 'primolut n' one tablet two times a day start at 3 days before exam and you can take till two weeks as per your need and stop. for cramping like pain tablet diclofenac one tab twise a day can be taken during cramping only. please take this treatment keeping in mind your exams only and you should not be pregnant and then consult gynecologist.
feel free to ask if any doubt
regards
dr. abhijit
