Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 5 year old has a big blister like sore or lesion on his leg. It was quite raised but then burst. Area underneath is quite red. He had a similar one about the size of a 10 cent piece on the same leg. This became a scab which took at least 2 weeks to heal and now looks like a scar.
Hello Such type of blisters over any part of the body may be due to bacteria ( usually due to bacterial origin ) like streptococcus or staphylococcus or other type of bacteria . When such type of patient visit I usually prescribe "BROAD SPECTRUM " antibiotics like erythomycin 10 mg / kg body weight thrice or twice in day for 5-7 days . I also advise them to take serratiopeptidase 10 mg thrice in day for 5- 7 days. Wash these blisters with savlon solution ( diluted) twice in day . Take care about local hygiene of the blister. These blisters are known as pyoderma , furuncles or abscess or cellulitis but treatment is same . Since these are prescription drugs so please take consultation of a physician . Hope this information will help you. Good luck.
