Suggest Medications For Cough With Phlegm And Mucus In Elderly
I have a client who is 80 years old and has never smoked. Every time she eats and drinks she pukes up phlegm and mucus. She went to the hospital for 3 days because of another issue and she didn t cough up phlegm one time when she was in the hospital. When she got back out of the hospital she immediately started coughing up phlegm again until she Puke she does this for hours at a time it drives me crazy what s wrong and how can I fix it
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of cough with phlegm and mucus which is due to upper respiratory tract infection. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take antihistamine Levocetirizine along with antibiotic Levofloxacin. Avoid intake of cold carbonated beverages. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. You should go for blood tests. Get X-ray chest done along with pulmonary function tests done to check extent of infection and start treatment. You should do warm saline gargles. You should take nasal sprays as well. Use mist humidifiers in room.
