Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am taking Metformin 500 mg 2 x a day and was taking Actos. I had severe diarrhea from Actos and so my doctor changed it to Onglyza 2.5 mg 1 x day. After taking Onglyza for 2 days, I still ended up with an explosive type diarrhea. Is there a something I can take to stop the diarrea. I m taking Metformin and Onglyza.
You may be suffering from allergy to pioglitazone and gliptins. So better to stop this medication and continue with other oral hypoglycemic drugs. Please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
