Suggest Medications For Drowsiness & Excessive Sleep
I take nexito forte 1 tab at night as per doctor's advice with 0.5 mg Rivotril as I was suffering from mental trauma, anxiety and sleeping disorder. Now I have excessive sleep and drousiness during day time. Should I change to Half Tablet Nexito Forte + 0.25 mg Rivotril? I am 47 yrs old, have hypothyroid problem and taking 100 mg Eltroxin

hi, i have understood your query.. u are taking the drugs for the depression.
u are taking nexito forte at night along with rivotril [0.5 mg]..nexito forte contains escitalopram [SSRI antidepressant+clonazepam 0.5 mg] and rivotril is also a brand of clonazepam.. so u have overdose of benzodiazepine, therefore u are feeling the excessive sedation during the day time..
in my opinion u shud stop taking rivotril completely and just continue the tablet nexito forte at bed time...i hope that with this change your day time sedation will wean off.
but if u still have sedation then u shud switch to nexito [plain escitalopram] and rivotril 0.25 mg.. u shud take separate drugs.. acoording to sleep u can change the dosage of the rivotril..

Rivotril consists of clonazepam. So in total you are taking 1 mg of clonazepam daily. This is a high dose and as per my opinion is the reason of your drowsiness and sedation in day time. You can consult your psychiatrist for dose adjustments. Plain Nexito (escitalopram) can be taken in morning hourse and Rivotril 0.25-0.5 can be taken in evening.
Plain excitalopram will prevent day time sedation and rivotril in low dose will help in good sleep. Consult your psychiatrist for that.
