Suggest Medications For Itchy Skin On Face Due To Dry Socket
My fiancé has a dry socket and is experiencing very itchy skin on her face and neck. The dentist packed the socket with medicine but it isn't stopping the itch. Is there something she can take to alleviate the feeling? It's to the point where it almost burns she says.
It can be due to either any medication that she is taking post extraction or can also be due to side effect of any skin cosmetic, soap, detergent or other common irritants..
Dry socket is a non healing condition of extraction socket due to loss of blood clot that is responsible to initiate healing, therefore i does not seems related..
I would suggest you to take anti-allergics like Benadryl and apply calamine lotion over the face.. Consult an Allergist and get evaluated and he can do a clinical evaluation to rule out the cause of itching and if needed investigations for ruling out the cause can be advised and treatment can be planned accordingly..
Hope this information helps..

Suggest Medications For Itchy Skin On Face Due To Dry Socket
Hi.. Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC.. I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.. As per your complain itching over face and neck does not seems to be due to dry socket but it seems like some allergic reaction leading to Allergic Contact Dermatitis. Consult an Allergist and get evaluated and he can do a clinical evaluation to rule out the cause of itching and if needed investigations for ruling out the cause can be advised and treatment can be planned accordingly..
