Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hello Doc, I was told i had chrronic pyelonephritis 3 months ago. I have had to use several antibiotics with no considerable improvement in my urine small. All i had as improvement was a stoppage to a flank pain i had before visiting the doctor. About 2 weeks ago, i had a swelling on my right testicle. The urine sample revealed klebsiella. I have been treated with Stretomicin and seclopin injections for 7days, I have noticed increase in my urination, and particles in my urine. This quite disturbing. Hope i am safe???
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM Klepsiella is a bacteria that is well known for causing UTI like pyelonephritis and causing nosocomial infections.Though it might show a great deal of resistance to some antibiotics, the drug you have taken is well indicated for it.Treatment is best if guided by an antibiotic sensitivity test.Reduction in urine output may signal a renal failure that may occur as a result of chronic UTI.I will suggest you see your Doctor for a Kidney function test as well.In the meantime, you may continue with your drug as prescribed by the Doctor, drink enough water. Hope this will help Best regards
