Hello,

The bipolar depression is a clinical entity which requires a multi disciplinary approach with psychiatrist to keep under remission. Following are general medications, which are prescribed by conventional Psychiatrist in routine care of BPD patient:
@ Mood stabilizer with anti convulsant actions such as Lamotrigine, Valproic acid, Carbamazepine or else
@ Anti-psychotic medicine such as Risperidone, Olanzepine, Quatiapine, Aripriprazole or else
@ Combination of anti-depressant and anti psychotic as Fluoxetine with Olanzepine

However, a treating physician or psychiatrist is best personnel to decide the best molecule helpful for particular case.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
