Suggest Medicines For Hay Fever, shallow Breathing And Cough

I have quite bad hay fever at the minute but have also developed shallow breathing and a cough. When I cough I can taste blood. I have only taken benadryl for hayfever but isnt always effective with my symptoms. Could the shallow breathing and blood taste be related to hayfever and is there a treatment my gp can give me?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Inflammation of the sinuses and nasal passages due to allergies and/or infection can result in bloody discharge.

This is due to the irritation of these passages.

You can continue the benadryl but may also want to consider a topical steroid nasal spray which would help to reduce the symptoms. Examples are nasonex, flonase, rhinocort, nasocort

Your GP would be able to give a description of one of these.
I hope this helps
