Hi - I'm 41 year old lady (RGN) have stopped smoking 7 years ago, reduced my calorie intake, and increased physical exercise, and yet managed to put on a stone and a half in 12 months, at a recent stroke awareness conference I had my BP taken and was advised that it was 110 / 94... my hands & feet are always cold, brother died (42 years ago) due to hypothalmus failure, mother has hypothyroidism / fybromyalgia ..... I'm taking kelp supplements and green tea tablets, but getting increasingly frustrated that I'm not loosing weight, abdomen is bloated every day .... do you have any advice ??

Well, youd' want to check total calories taken in by doing a diet diary and counting every mouthful. and getting a diabetes and thyroid screening would seem reasonable. OTherwise it is due to calories in versus calories out. The number of calories you use up without exercise is about ten times the weight in pounds. , one can lose additionally 100 to 600 calories per hour with exercise. And 4000 calories is about worth a pound.
