Suggest Opinion About Ear Tumor Removal

I am male ,7o yrs old with normal health. 2X3 cm superficial parotid glad tumor (benign) found
near left ear; allopathy advises removal by surgery; I donot like since the tumor is not painful; benign and
not at all interfering with functions.
what is your opinion , Doctor?

Hello,
It is always advisable to get the surgery done as the benign tumor may convert to malignant , secondly the benign tumor may at places have malignant changes which did not come in the needle aspiration test.
BUt according to your age 70 yrs and if not willing and have any other disease because of which general anaesthesia can not be given then , you can continue without surgery.
But you need to take care that if there is increase in the size or you develop facial nerve weakness that is facial muscle weakness on the face then consult your doctor.
