Suggest Opinion On Growth Who Has Ileostomy With Hernia Problems

Doctor, My daughter is just 8 month ( pre-term 2 months ) she has got ilostomy problem in her stomach with hernia problem. two time surgery has been done. she is takiing food as milk ( pregestimil ) , nestem rice , cerelac rice, 1 slice boiled apple. we are worry about her growth.at the time of birth she was 732 gms.

in premature and very low birth weight children , the catchup growth can happen anytime before the age of 2 years .
now , since your child has iliostomy , that means she can have fat malabsorption , that's why her doctors prescribed pregestamil.
the most important thing to know first before adjusting any therapy or nutrition is to know how much is her weight now , by calculating the difference between what her weight and the expected weight for age (which is corrected 6 months ) ; we can adjust he nutrition in the form of increasing her daily intake or changing the formula .
