Suggest Precautions To Prevent Recurring Typhoid

Hi Doctor, I am 30 yrs old woman, married since past 1 1/2 yr no kids as yet, but planning to after a month or so. I suffered with typhoid in July 2009 and then a relapse in Jan 2010 and now its just the onset of typhoid since 2-3 days. I did take the vaccine in Feb 2010. Is it harmful , what are the precautions and will it occur again. Also what about my conception when should i go ahead and will it affect the conception. Please advise.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
thanks for using health care magic

typhoid is a food borne and it is transmitted through ingestion
of poorly cooked food or poorly treated water.
The main arm of preventing typhoid is to avoid the above by properly
cooking food and using correctly treated water.

However, some people are known to be chronic carriers of typhoid, they
do not manifest symptoms but they continue to secret and to transmit
the infection through stool.

As concerns, fertility, you do not need to be afraid.

Best regards
Dr Achuo
