Suggest Remedies For A Green Pus Filled Boil On My Buttock

I was wondering if this is something that will go away on its own or if I should see a doctor. I have what is either a boil or a insect bite on my butt cheek that I noticed on Saturday. It s full of pressure and I did some hot compresses and green puss and blood came out. It still hurts as bad as it did before the compress and is still pressurized. I have taken SMZ-TMP DS** tab antibiotics twice daily for 3 days now and still no progress. What should I do?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

From your description, you have an abscess.

This is a localized collection of pus. The definitive treatment of an abscess is incision and drainage.

Even though there was drainage, pockets of pus would still be present. These would have to be drained as well.
This is an in office procedure.

Additional antibiotics would also be needed.

I hope this helps
