Suggest Remedies For A Pus Filled Outbreak On Face
Good afternoon, male age 53 good health, recently I had an outbreak on my face real nasty with yellow discharge, prednisone rapidly reduced swelling since been on topical elidel, hydrocortisone 2.5 and ketoconazole with not much luck thinking of tumeric your thoughts. Thanks John
I can understand your concern. It seems that an abscess has developed on your face due to bacterial infection. In that case only topical applications may not give desired effects.
I would advise you to start antibiotics along with the topical applications. You should take Cafixime 200 mg (Topcef) twice a day for 5 days. If you are having pain too, you can take OTC available painkillers like Acetaminophen 500 mg or Ibuprofen 400 mg.
However, if the abscess is not healed in 5 days, you should visit a physician for the clinical examination of the area and further procedures.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish you feel better soon.
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
