Suggest Remedies For Chronic Burning Sensation In The Throat And Stomach

Hi Dr, I m a 41 yr old female. I have burning pain when I swallow that runs down my esophagus to my stomach, and then back up again. My stomach is also having occasional burning pain on its own. It is moderate pain but very uncomfortable, especially when I lay down. My mouth is also watering more because of it. I tried a couple tums. I am out of Pepcid. I m assuming heartburn? Not sure why. It came on suddenly. Any suggestions to relieve pain? More tums?

Hello,

It is due to acidity in the stomach and reflux acid disease which causes burning in the throat.

Don't worry. You need to take Lansoprazole once daily for 21 days. You also take Digene syrup one teaspoonful twice daily for one month.

Avoid smoking, acid causing foods, take light meals and have a good 8-hour sleep. You will get relief in a couple of weeks.

However, if symptoms continue then report to an emergency room for further evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
