General & Family Physician 's  Response
hello and thank you for asking HCM,

I understand your concern. Cirrhosis is a result of advanced liver disease. It is characterized by replacement of liver tissue by fibrosis (scar tissue) and leads to loss of liver function. Cirrhosis is a long process and if you stop drinking alcohol now very likely you will successfully avoid the development of cirrhosis.
Your weight loss and paleness are connected with your excessive alcohol consumption.
You can drink coffee and black tea, but try to dring not more than two or three cups a day.
The best way to improve your liver function for you is to stop using alcohol.

I hope this answer was helpful to you.
