Suggest Remedies For Cramps, Vomiting And Nausea After HIDA Scan

Had Hida scan w/ Vick Monday 8/29. Had the cramping, vomiting and nausea which can began Wednesday 08/31 that night. Have not had a bowel movement since Hida scan. Still some nausea and cramping through Friday 09/02. Still no bm. Finally had bm Saturday 09/03 after lunch. Small bm with lots of white thick mucus in it. Is this pretty much normal. I feel okay just still have a little loss of appetite

Hi,

Hence it looks that the constipation is the cause of abdominal symptoms.
You have passed a motion on 09/02 relieving some symptoms although little loss of appetite is still present.
Passing stools with thick white mucus are not normal. I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Send the sample of stool for lab and get treated according to the findings if any.
Take full diet in a normal ways as this is needed for proper passage of stool and then you may not need any laxative or stool softener.
Plenty of oral fluids.
Stool softener if the stools remain hard or if you get constipation again.
Further management as per the HIDA scan report.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T Chandrakant, ENT & General Surgeon
