Suggest Remedies For Dry Mouth While On Glucosamine

I have Puritan Pride "Glucosamine/Chondroitin with Vitamin D3 (2000 IU) - Triple Strength/Joint Soother caplets - something is giving me bad "dry mouth." Am also taking Duloxetine (for Cymbalta) - just started taking both - am taking Glococamine/Chondroitin at about 8 AM AND at about 5:30 PM (twice daily- AM & PM) and the Duloxetine also at about 5:30 PM0 - once daily - don't know which is giving me "dry mouth!" (Dry mouth is so bad that I'm rinsing my mouth out every hour all day and night (every hour not getting much sleep!)long HELP!

As per your complain it looks like dry mouth is due to side effect of medication as Glucosamine and Duloxetine both causes dry mouth, other common causes of side effect can be Salivary gland dysfunction,Nerve damage supplying salivary glands,Oral infections like thrush,Sjogren's Syndrome etc..

Consult your physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation can be done..
Change in medication or dose alteration can help in relieving the symptoms..

-As of now for dry mouth chew sugarfree chewing gums..
-Drink plenty of water.
-Avoid regular mouthwash and use specialized mouthwash that are formulated for dry mouth patients like Biotene..
-You can also instil artificial saliva drops..
-Suck tart candies as it also stimulates saliva flow..
