Suggest Remedies For Extreme Pain And Swelling Around The Wrist

Wrist pain, came on suddenly with swelling/bulge below thumb area. Pain worsened from about 3 to 8 on ten scale. Lots of pain if I move it. Iced for 30 mins, took 1 ibuprofen 45 mins ago. Lump gone down a little but still lots of pain radiating to hand. No point of injury.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Lots of pain and swelling around wrist suggest inflammation around the wrist. Many reasons may be there but most common is injury or over bending of joint. Take tablet aceclofenac plus paracetamol for better relieving of pain and swelling. Have hot compression around it for a better result in swelling.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nirav Nimavat, General & Family Physician
