Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i was suffirng for irregular periods doc says that it becoz hormons imbalnce problem then my l.doc gave me Just N (norethistrone)tablet for 20 days 2times..now i have periods after taking tablets.i just wanna ask u is this tablet reduce the blood flow of mensess??? is it normal? or how can i balance my hormones coz i m much worried from diz problem..
Irregular periods can happen with anovulatory cycles, this means it happens when women do not produce egg in that cycle. This is a common thing and in some women it is even more common. Giving hormones will help balance the changes in the womb so the menstruation will happen normally but it will not help with ovulation (egg production). In itself this is not a problem unless you would like to conceive and have a pregnancy. In this case your doctor might need to give a pill that induces ovulation (clomifen) and follow you up to make sure you are producing an egg.
Most of the time women taking clomifen do produce an egg and do conceive. So to conclude, if you would like to get pregnant, please talk with your doctor on the possibility of taking clomifen. If you are not planing to conceive but your periods are irregular and you are worried that they are irregular then you can take oral contraception (combined pill or only progesteron as you have already done- this is needed generally for only 10 days in a month, from day 14 to 24 of the cycle).

Suggest Remedies For Irregular Menstruation
Hello, Irregular periods can happen with anovulatory cycles, this means it happens when women do not produce egg in that cycle. This is a common thing and in some women it is even more common. You can have some tests to rule out polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) as the cause of the irregular menstruation. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
