Suggest Remedies For Itchy Red Marks Around The Anus
Hi,i got some red marks around my anus...it is itchy and sore. It has become pinkish/reddish spreading slightly upwards towards my penis. Is it because of oily and spicy food I am having or recent regular swimming in a public pool? What medication or antiseptics I should have? Thanks.
Take care of your hygiene, wipe & wash affected area clean. Take sitz bath. Wear loose-fitting cotton clothes, avoid sex till the infection is not cured.
You are suggested to get STD test done to rule out any STI. If reports are positive you may need antibacterials & antibiotics.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician

Hello, Itchy rash around the anus that is spreading towards the penis commonly is contact dermatitis or psoriasis, fungal infections, etc. However, if you are sexually active having multiple partners it can be genital herpes. You can apply locally ointments like Zinc oxide, hydrocortisone cream, capsaicin cream. You can take a course of oral antifungals, Fluconazole for 5 days.
