Suggest Remedies For Itchy, Swollen Hands, With History Of Hives On Shoulders

Hello my hands are itching and my ring finger ( I wear no ring) feels hard and puffed up. My hands on the inside are very itchy and red. The tops of my hands are itchy but not red. I had hives on my shoulder and I believe behind my ears. What is going on?

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of itchy, swollen hands, with history of hives on shoulders which are due to exposure to allergen such as excessive heat, cold, environmental change, insect bite , pollen and some plants, pressure and sun exposure . It is the body's response to the trigger factor. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to give cold compresses to hives several times a day to prevent from swelling and itching and take over the counter antihistamine drug like benadryl. Avoid coming in contact with allergen after proper identification. If condition doesn't get well then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may take history , order certain test like blood test for igE antibodies and allergy test . Doctor may give adrenaline short , corticosteroid ointment or anti inflammatory . Doctor may also perform skin test, patch test to find out the trigger factor. Stay in cool environment.
