Hi,

I understand your concern. The voice loss caused by laryngitis generally returns to normal within 2 weeks. I recommend the following to help you get back your voice quickly -

1. Rest your voice as much as possible for a few days. I understand that this could be very challenging considering the nature of your job. Speak softly if it is unavoidable (don't whisper). Whispering irritiates the larynx more than speaking softly.
2. Drink plenty of fluids
3. Steam inhalation twice or thrice daily
4. Dont try to clear your throat often
5. Avoid smoking if you have the habit (also avoid passive smoking)

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Dr. Prasad
