Suggest Remedies For Lump In The Back Of The Head

I think I have a cyst located in the back of my head; lower left side above the neck where it joins the scull. It develop quickly approx. 2 weeks and is somewhat spongy. It is around a size of a small egg and has reduced in height. Should I see doctor at this time?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Very likely the lump on the back of your head is a dermoid cyst, which is a fat gland blocked and collecting fat.
It is not dangerous and is only treated by draining it. It can be drained with a small incision or it can be surgically removed with the capsule to avoid recurrence.
It is not urgent, you may see the doctor whenever you can and discuss the chance to remove it.

I hope this answers your query and is helpful to you. Let me know if I may assist you further.

Regards,
