Hi, I have some going pain in the right foot great toe. To make a long story short, yesterday afternoon it felt like it needed to crack (like a knuckle). I attempted to crack it, but it didn t work. I continued on with the evening, with no problems. This morning when I got up, it hurt like a son of a gun... Any thoughts. P.s. I had sesamoiditis previously on my other foot, and this feels nothing like that hellish pain. It is localized to the big knuckle between the big and middle toes.
This pain in the big toe of your foot may be possibly related to podagra or gout.
High levels of uric acid are accumulated in joint tendons and articulation causing inflammation which reaches the highest at 12 hours of its beginning.
You can use anti-inflammatory drugs such as indomethacin which is commonly used for it. Also, you can use drugs that lower the uric acid in blood like allopurinol or probenecid.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
