Suggest Remedies For Pain In Wrist Radiating To Underarms And Bicep

I have a sudden onset of pain at the base of my thumb/wrist area. It radiates up to my underarm area...kinda thru my bicep. I have had numbing at night from my armpits down to my thumb and forefinger. I dont know if it is related. It is quite painful now and i cannot grip anything or even button my pants. No injury to my knowledge.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to a pinched nerve in the wrist. I suggest using anti-inflammatory medication such as Acetaminophen three time a day to relieve the pain.

I also suggest using a brace and maintain the wrist immobilized to prevent further damage. I recommend to rest and elevate the wrist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
