Suggest Remedies For Sharp And Rough Tooth Post A Dental Procedure
I had my upper rear molar repaired today. It was a lengthy and complicated procedure, as it was below the gum line. The dentist stopped short of polishing the tooth, so it s extremely rough and sharp. I ate peaches and afterwards I found that I have a hole in my cheek. What can I do so this doesn t become a bigger issue until I can get back to the dentist?
Well, if the tooth is not checked and smoothed appropriately after a dental procedure then there can be sharp cusps of the teeth and it can lead to cheek bite during chewing and can also cause trauma to the tongue.
So a hole on the cheek can be due to cheek bite caused with the sharp cusp.
Although for short duration it is not necessarily going to cause any serious problems my suggestion to you is to consult your dentist and get the cusps smoothed as it can continue to lacerate the inside of the cheek and can cause ulceration.
For now, take soft meals and in case if the cheek on the inside is painful then apply Oragel over it.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Honey Arora,
Dentist
