Suggest Remedies For Sunburn On The Scalp While On Clobex
I used Wen teatree oil on my scalp the other day and left on overnight, as they tell you to do. I have used this product for several years without a problem. My scalp feels like it has a sunburn and is pink in some areas. I put it on Monday night and it has gotten a little better but still hurts some. My primary care doctor gave me a prescription for Clobex, but I am afraid to use it because of the side effects. I also have Lupus and have hair issues in the summer. I will see my doctor that treats my lupus next Wednesday. Should I wait to do anything until I see him? Didn t want to make matters worse. Have not washed my hair since Tuesday. Had trouble making an appt. with a dermatologist, since there is a wait to see them. I put in a call to my doctor that treats my lupus but he hasn t called yet. Maybe putting me on a little higher prednisone for a few days will help. I am currently on 6mg of prednisone a day.
You can go ahead with clobex foam on the scalp as directed by your primary care physician. The adverse effects that you are worried about can be avoided by the following instructions:
1) On the scalp, only clobex foam is to be used and not cream or lotion.
2) Only a thin layer is to be applied over the affected areas.
3) Contact with face, eyes are to be avoided.
If your problem persists even after 1 week, or if any adverse effects appear, you can have a dermatologist consultation. Please carry on your lupus treatment and follow up without interruption.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
