Suggest Remedies For Swelling And Bruising On Wrist After Being Bitten By A Dog
My dog bit me 5 days ago when I intervened a dog fight. Not s huge puncture but internal bleeding took place near my wrist and swelled immediately. I m experiencing swollen area and brusing but what is concerning is numbness in three fingers. I had s none graph many years ago in my wrist which is the same place bitten which could add to the numbness. What do you think??
The swelling and bruising is related to the injury. The numbness of the fingers can be related to the inflammation of the area. Thus, I recommend to: 1) Clean the area with hydrogen peroxide 2) Wash the bite carefully with soap and water. 3) Apply a sterile bandage to the wound. 4) Apply antibiotic ointment to the injury every day to prevent infection. 5) Take anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the inflammation and maintain the hand elevated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
