Suggest Remedies For Withdrawal Symptoms From Klonopin
I have been on Klonopin for over 10 years. Dr. first gave me 2mg 4x per day. I have spent the last 2 years to get myself to 1/2 mg per day. I hate this drug and I am working with my Dr. to get off of it. If I go more than 2-3 days without taking it, I seem to have all kinds of problems which seem like withdrawal. On such a low dose, trying to get off of this, should withdrawal symptoms be so severe? I am not paying for the advice. Thought this was just basic advise.
Clonazepam is a Benzodiazepine drug and is having high dependence potential. You have been taking the drug since long time and this is the reason you are developing withdrawal symptoms when ever you skip the doses. Now you are on 0.5 MG dose and this is not a very high dose. You can taper it gradually to 0.25 and then to 0.125 over 8-12 weeks.
Gradual dose taper would not cause any serious withdrawal symptoms. To manage restlessness drugs like Gabapentine or Pregabalin can be utilised. The drugs will reduce the craving and will help to calm you in Benzodiazepine withdrawal. Please visit your doctor and discuss about these drugs. Take care.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
