Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have an abdominal aneurysm 4.5 cm back in September I believe the MRI was done. Today I notice dark and loose stools. Is that a signal that the aneurysm has started to rupture or do I not neen to worry about it. The VA has schedule me for some kind of cardio test on the 29th of July and something called a Vascular Return Flash - Post in September. Do I need to worry about all of this.
Hi welcome to HCM I understand your query and concern. Blood in the stools in your case is suggestive of bleeding from the lower Gastrointestinal tract secondary to abdominal aneurysm, its a medical emergency.Immediately consult your cardiologist to prevent aneurysmal rupture and cardiac arrest.Your blood pressure should be monitored immediately.Low blood ressure needs IV fluids.Get aneurysmectomy followed by grafting at the earliest by discussing with your cardiologist and cardio thoracic surgeon.Post your further queries if any. Thankyou
