Suggest Remedy For Arm Pain Followed By Pain In Joints

Hi i am 32 years old, 5 9 female. I have thalessimia minor. I have moved from US to Hong kong 3 months ago. Since moving I have had very bad arm pain. At first I could not even lift my left arm. I went to a General Practioner and he prescribed pain killers and anti-inflammatory meds. The pain got better..but the arm would feel very stiff in the morning. I wasn t even able to lift my covers off. I did 3 physiotherapy sessions but felt no difference. One month after the pain I was playing table tennis with my right arm and the next day i had the same pain. Currently both arms have the same pain. I have been referred to a rhumetoidologist and am waiting for results. I have never had any muscle, joint, tendon pain for more than a few days. And since the arm pain i have been getting muscle, joint, tendon pain all over like my knee, fingers, and especially thumb( i am unable to bend it and when i do it gets stuck some how?) Please give me your recommendation as i very frustated with my situation

Hi,

By looking at your complaints, you are suffering from a condition know as inflammatory arthritis, basically what this means is that some kind of immune reaction or foreign body has triggered such complaints. having early morning stiffness goes strongly in favour of inflammatory arthritis, and having symmetrical joints involved likely favours a condition know as Rheumatoid arthritis.

Rheumatoid arthritis usually involves the peripheral joints and seldom affecting the axial joints (spinal). You are visiting a rheumatologist you are in the correct department to address your complaints. You will be required to go through a couple of blood test like kidney profile, liver profile chest X-ray, viral markers and inflammatory markers like ESR and CRP.

Medications with Disease Modifying Anti rheumatic drugs DMARD's like steroids and hydroxy-chloroquine and methotrexate will benefit you a lot and also to include daily exercises too. If the condition is left un-addressed it can lead to permanent joint deformity. It looks like you have an acute onset of inflammatory arthritis, Early treatment will benefit you a lot and early control.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
