Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I had a cyst removed from my l4 l5, back pains never went away. 2nd mri reveals a 2nd cyst, so I have surgery again in the same area. The surgeon said "the cyst is wraped around the dura and you'er most likely born with it". Pains worsened for awhile after surgery so my spine spec orders another mri. The 3rd mri shows that the cyst is gone. My question is: Could they have poped the cyst by accident causing me extreme pain, they did after all have to push down on the cyst to take a couple of pics for me.
Dear patient All your questions can be answered with surety by operating surgeon only because he has opened your spine. But as per your description increased pain for some time after surgery might be due to nerve inflammation and irritation which subsides after few days with medicines. So don't worry as your final mri report is showing no cyst.
