Hello Sir,

Thank you for your question and welcome to Healthcare Magic. I read your query and I understand your question.

Snoring is a condition which may be caused from different causes and it’s important to find out the stimulus of snoring to establish appropriate treatment. Nasal congestion has a variety of causes, and is usually attributed to either a structural anatomic blockage or swelling of the nasal tissue. You do not mention any other detail if you have any allergy or if you have previously been diagnosed with deviated nasal septum. Another possible cause of snoring may be overweight issue, which could lead to sleep apnea.
With such a presentation, my first impression is that you may have a deviated nasal septum, but to confirm the definite diagnosis you may have have a consult with your local ENT doctor.
Meanwhile I could give you some advises how to help your self to reduce the snoring.
1. Change sleeping position: Sleeping on your side as opposed to your back will help prevent snoring or you could use an extra pillow, so your sinuses can drain, and congestion will not pool in your nasal passages as much as it would if you sleep flat on one pillow.
2. Avoid smoking, alcohol or sedative drugs
3. Try to loose weight.
4. Hydrate your self, in order that the secretions in your nose and soft palate become less stickier.

Hope I helped with my answer. For further concerns feel free to ask again.

Kind regards,
Dr. Ina
