Suggest Remedy For Chronic Fatigue And Dizziness With Vomiting

My 90 year old father seemed to have the stomach flu, he vomited on and off for two days, the vomiting stopped, but he is very weak and complains that when he stands up or tilts his head back he is extremely dizzy. We have been working on keeping him hydrated and have managed to get him to eat small meals, but he continues to feel very dizzy and weak, hardly able to get up and walk around without holding on to the wall or furniture. Do you think we should take him to the emergency room or Urgent care. The problem is he has not seen a Doctor in over 30 years so we really don t have any medical information to work with.

Hi,

Based on the symptoms you have described, it is recommended to take your father to the emergency room or urgent care as soon as possible. Chronic fatigue, dizziness, and vomiting can be signs of a more serious medical condition, such as dehydration, infection, or an underlying health condition. The fact that your father has not seen a doctor in over 30 years is also concerning, as it may indicate a lack of preventative care and monitoring of potential health issues.

At the hospital or urgent care center, your father can undergo a thorough medical evaluation and receive the appropriate treatment to address his symptoms and underlying condition. Treatment may involve IV fluids to combat dehydration, medication for nausea and vomiting, and other supportive measures to stabilize his condition. It is important to seek medical attention promptly to ensure the best possible outcome for your father's health.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
