Hi,I am Dr. Carol Rogala (Emergency Medicine). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, my father had a heart attack about 8 hours ago. Emergency came in few minutes, my mother and her friend kept on reviving him. He is in stabel condition now, with regular breathing, heart functioning but he is still in coma that was not medicaly induced. What are the chances that he will come out of coma and what are the chances that there won't be a brain damage. Apparently doctors checked for the brain damage and they said that there are no visible signs of damage. Thank you for everything! Ana
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern for your father if this is the coma due to hypoxia or due to cerebral hemorrhage then it is all depends upon the damage done to the brain it may be reversible or may not, actually clinical examination or say condition gives some clues about this, CT and MRI would be much helpful, hope this information helps, take care.
