Suggest Remedy For Diarrhea When Taking Vancomycin
My wife has been taking vancomycin now for two days to combat Clostridium difficile. Before she started this medicine, she was taking Imodium to make the diahrrea less frequent. She stopped taking the Imodium when she started this medicine and the diahrrea has become more frequent. Should she go back to taking Imodium again until the medicine mentioned above has been taken for several days or what

Imodium is not good for health because this could cause paralytic ileus which could be dangerous some time, and not advisable, if this is drug induce diarrhea then this may not need any treatment at the most this can be treated with Lyophilized lactobacillus sachets three time in day, but this would come around after finishing the course of antibiotic this would come around, hope this information helps, take care.
