Suggest Remedy For Digestive Problmes
Hi, my name is Mary and I have been experiencing digestive problems for quite a while. I m on Nexium 40 Mg twice a day which takes care of the reflux, however for several months I have been having a problem with burping / belching all night. It is so bad I have to get out of bed and sit in an upright position. I ve had both an endoscopy and colonoscopy. I have a medium sized hiatial hernia and the last treatment was to take 2 weeks of antibiotics in case it was a bacterial infection. Ive just finished that treatment but still have the problem. Ive given up many foods such as anything fried, spicy or with highvacid content. Ive also given up carbonated beverages. I do not know where to turn or what to try next. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mary

Noted the history of burping and belching all night die to reflux and had Upper GI Endoscopy showing hiatal hernia; colonoscopy is normal, took treatment of 2 weeks antibiotic, taking Nexium, wants to know where to go from here.
I would advise you the following:
Continue PPI,
Take antacid at 3 hourly interval, particularly when on empty stomach.
Motility regulator like Domperidone or Reglan,
If the medical management fails, one may have to undergo surgery to tackle the hiatus hernia problem and related symptoms.
