Suggest Remedy For Dizziness When Diagnosed With Inner Ear Infection?

HI Doc i was in hospital last week with Dizziness and vomiting. first they said it was Vertigo finally they said it was an inner ear infection,six days now i still feel a little dizzy, when can i go back to work, Will i have this for the rest off my life Regards

Thanks for writing in.

The inner ear contains the balancing organs in the body. An inner ear infection disturbs the fluid in small channels called endolymph and the hair cells are stimulated to cause dizziness.

The recovery from this dizziness is slow and after infection is treated then the endolymph and hair cells slowly get back to normal. You might try sniffing citrus fruits before going on a travel to avoid dizziness. Medicines are also available to be taken under recommendation of your doctor. It might take 6 to 12 weeks to recover in most inner ear infections and please avoid doing high risk activities till that time. Please do not worry.
