Suggest Remedy For Excess Weight Gain And Foul Body Odour
My daughter is 28 years old and has experienced both weight gain (about 25-30 pounds) and heightened body odor over the last 2 years. This has increased her stress level and may thus contribute to a continuance of the above. She lives in NY and we hope to find a specialist who may help her. What type of doctor might she see as her primary physician does not seem to provide proper direction. What might her symptoms point to? I have thought that maybe she has thyroid issue, but she was tested at the onset of issues a couple of years ago and tests were negative.
Excess weight gain and bad body odour is commonly due to obesity, thyroid issues, genetic factors, developing diabetes, kidney and liver dysfunction.
You are suggested to get her a thorough medical check up done. Get all blood and required imaging test done. Her treatment will depend on the pathology detected and her clinical symptoms.
In the meantime, help her cut on sweet and salty food, carbohydrates, trans fat & oily, spicy food. She is suggested to do regular exercises. Avoid addictions of any.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
