Suggest Remedy For Eye Pain

A piece of paper flew up and hit me in the eye with the corner of the paper. It actually cut my contact lens. I feel like there is something in my eye, no bleeding or severe pain. Just uncomfortable, tearing and blinking. Porbably a corneal abrasion. My question is, I don t want to go to the ER for something this silly. Can it wait until my doctor office opens tomorrow -- about 14 hours from now?

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hello
It seems from the history that you had a injury with a paper hitting the corner of the eye.
The irritation is probably because of damage to corneal epithelium in the form of corneal abrasion.
The treatment is by use of antibiotics and artificial tears eye drops. Use of analgesics provides symptomatic relief.
You can consult your ophthalmologist tomorrow morning.

Thank you
