Suggest Remedy For Fever, Low Appetite And Painful Swallowing In A Child

2 year old with fever for 3 days, otherwise generally healthy, fussy and not eating, skin is hot and dry, tympanic membranes are slightly reddened on the periphery otherwise normal, throat is erythematous with 4+ tonsils and diffuse exudates, anterior cervical nodes are readily palpable and tender to the touch on the left side, child says throat hurts when swallowing, hr 130 rr 24 temp 102.8

Hi,
Thank you for posting.
The symptoms which you have describe point towards acute pharngo-tonsillitis. The child must take a course of antibiotics, injectable ones are preferred. If the symptoms occur more than 3 times a year, the child needs to undergo tonsillectomy to avoid the infection at source.
until you go an ENT surgeon or a pediatrician, you can the child to do salt water gargling which gives some immediate relief to the child.
