Suggest Remedy For Fluid Collecting In The Bladder
Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here... Hi,in Feb. 2010 i was diagnosed with a left anterior abdominal wall fluid collection seen below the inferior extension of the mesh which had been put there to repair a hernia in Jan. 2006. This fluid pocket is getting bigger and I thinking it is pressing against the bladder. What can be done about this? What kind of doctor do I need to see? Thanks.
* As per the surgical experience of 2 decades in this field, I can surely suggest that this issue is of hematoma formation or serous fluid collection at the operated site of hernia mesh repair.
* Immediate evaluation with the CT scan of the abdomen & pelvis is mandatory for taking further steps which can include
- conservative management when the fluid amount is of a minimum amount, not producing much of the symptoms or no threat of infection; therapy will consist of intravenous antibiotics and supportive care.
- surgical management with aspiration or surgical drainage and keeping of drain inside the operated part.
I would like to get back to you with the CT scan report if you wish.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
