My wife has had heartburns and taken medication over the counter, she just had her blood work & they called & lefta message informing her of a stomach infection that is pronounced Tecobaxter...thyloaid? How serious is this? they told her to take it right away for the next 10 dAYS 7 go back for more blood work
Hello, 1) Symptoms heartburn with stomach infection on repost suggest possibility of H.Pylori infection. 2) This is not as serious infection as you thinking but it require strict antibiotic protocol to prevent re-appreance of infection 3) It is food-borne infection, and involve stomach due to which wall of stomach get inflamed (gastritis) and most of time this inflammation is so severe that ulcer develops. Overall presentation of this infection is symptoms associated with acidity (heartburn, early satiety, nausea, upper abdomen discomfort) 4) Upper GI endoscopy confirm this infection and gastritis. 5) Once confirmed it can treated with medicines only (specific antibiotics and treatment for acidity
