Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
when I get hot (not a hot flash) I get nauseous and weak. I am 59 yr old female. As a teenager I was hospital with heat stroke. It feels a lot like that but not as severe and I am not getting very hot. Any idea what might be causing this? It is getting worse over the last 4 months.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have hot flashes. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like changes in reproductive hormones and in your body's thermostat also known as hypothalamus, which becomes more sensitive to slight changes in body temperature. I would suggest you to consult gynecologist for proper examination . To confirm the cause of your hot flashes, your doctor may suggest blood tests. Doctor may prescribe hormonal therapy along with drugs like venlafaxine and clonidine . For now drink plenty of water , do light exercises like walking and eat healthy .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
