Hello,

The following are few causes of irregular menstruation:
1) Polycystic ovarian syndrome
2) Endometriosis
3) Uterine fibroids
4) Pelvic inflammatory disease
5) Hypothyroidism or thyroid dysfunction
6) Pituitary tumors
7) Stress and various eating disorders

As you were tested by a gynecologist and seemingly your uterus and ovaries are normal, Duphaston was prescribed. You can use Duphaston for 10 days. This helps in regularization of your periods.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
